The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA) has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Ahmed as Chairman of Katsina State Chapter of the Institute.
Ibrahim Ahmed until his appointment is a Secretary of Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA).
In a letter dated 2nd February, 2024 signed by the Registrar/Secretary to Council, Rasheed Aiyelabegan, FInstTA, said “This is to convey the approval of the National Executive Committee (NEC), of your
appointment as the Chairman of CIoTA Katsina State Chapter (Interim) Executive;
this is in accordance with Section 5 (3) 6 (1) of IOTA Act No, 27 of 2019, which states that the “Council may set up one or more committees to perform on behalf of the Institute or the Council.
Such functions as the Council may be”.
Consequently, your duties and responsibilities will include as may be necessary from time to time (but not limited to) the under listed; as the Chairman, your duty and responsibilities are as follows:
- Coordinate the activities of Katsina State Chapter for a period of Six (6)
months after which election of substantive Executives shall be conducted in
line with the Constitution. - Ensure in concert with the Secretariat the viability of the Institute activities
within the Chapter for deeper penetration, engagements and reach-out on CIoTA programmes and activities. - Ensure aggressive drive for new membership and as well promotes the general interests and the activities of the Institute within the Chapter while supporting, mentoring and encouraging members and officers in the state on an individual and collective basis; coordinating all State programmes and providing exemplary and professional leadership.
This letter serves as a formal notice to commence duties in this respect with
immediate effect. You will be notified of the date and venue of the inauguration
ceremony of Members of the Interim Executives.
