The Zamfara state chamber of commerce has urged the federal government to intervene on the current high cost of bakery ingredients in the country.
The vice president of the chamber in the state Alh. Habibu Alfijir made the call in an interview with newsmen at the Zamfara Entrepreneurs Exhibition Summit and Award. Night organized by Sunars Global Concept held at Command Guest In Gusau Saturday.
According to him, the cost of floor and other ingredients used for making bread and other forms of bakeries is devastating, a situation which made thousands of bakery companies remain closed.
“We are appealing to federal government under the leadership of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look inward in reducing tax for imported goods and remove reverse the fuel subsidy to end the devastating inflation syndrome that generated high cost of goods and Services in the country”. He added.
According to him, when fuel subsidy removal is reversed, the cost of goods and Services will be reduced to the barest minimum.
He stated that Zamfara state chamber of commerce has concluded all arrangements to grants soft loan to Entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises for them to improve their business in the state.
He enjoined business owners to support the government and use the grants that will be given to them appropriately for the development of their business ventures.
He commented SUNARS GLOBAL CONCEPT for organizing the exhibition summit and award night to small scale business owners, stressing that it would go along way in empowering people particularly women at their matrimonial home.
