The Federal University of Kashere (FUK) in Gombe state has administered the oath of matriculation to 3, 271 newly admitted Students for the 2023/2024 academic session and warned newly admitted against vices.
Prof. Umaru Pate Vice Chancellor of the University, speaking at the ceremony in Kashere Akko Local Government Area of the state Yesterday, said those that were admitted have successfully completed their registration with the relevant units of the University.
He said the breakdown of the admission was as follows, Faculty of Agriculture 146, Education 876, Humanities 269, Management Sciences 398, Social Sciences 851 and Science 731.
‘My dear students, I welcome you to the FUK community and congratulate you and your parents on your educational attainment.
“We know, it has not been easy to scale through the primary and secondary school levels and qualify for undergraduate admissions.
“Indeed, gaining admission slots in our institutions in the country is increasingly becoming challenging due to the stiff competition caused by excessive demand and shortage of spaces in our public institutions, I therefore urged you to concentrate on your studies ,” he said.
The VC urged the students to study hard and be curious at all time to learn the tricks of information and communication technologies irrespective of their disciplines.
He also advised them to avoid reckless behaviour like engaging in examination malpractice, drug addiction, Gender-Based Violence, Cyber crimes commonly known as Yahoo.”
