The immediate past Commandant of Zamfara Anti-Thuggery Agency, Bello Soja Bakyasuwa has kicked against the recent appointment of Col. Rabiu Yandoto Rtd, as state commandant of Community Protection Guards by the Zamfara state governor Dauda Lawal.
Bakyasuwa stated this in a statement made available to Hotpen in Gusau Monday.
He challenged Col. Yandoto’s appointment as CPG commandant in Zamfara state as uncalled for, describing him as not man of integrity in the state.
“Rabi’u Yandoto is not qualified to be a even a member of CPG considering various irregularities in his records and it cleared that he was disgracefully dismissed by the Nigerian Army after he was convicted by the Nigerian Army Court Marshal”. Bakyasuwa stated.
He further challenged that, Col. Yandoto is not morally and professionally qualified to hold the position of Zamfara CPG Commandant.
Bakyasuwa maintained that, the fight against insecurity required people with proven integrity, transparency and accountability.
“I am totally devastated haven seen the name of Rabi’u Yandoto appointed as state Commander of State Owned Security outfit because he will not serve for the particular purposes of establishing the agency”. Bakyasuwa hinted.
“Col Yandoto is not qualified to lead a very sensitive organization like CPG to fight insecurity considering the fact that he played a vital role to the setback of Zamfara Road Traffic Agency when he was the commandant of the agency”.
Bakyasuwa called on Governor Dauda Lawal to review Yandoto’s appointment and appoint some body with good records, credibility and integrity to manage the CPG.
“I am also calling on Governor Dauda to avoid making a similar mistakes by the previous administrations in the state where incompetent persons in managing the security sector of the state were appointed.
