The JAMA’ATU IZALATIL BIDI’AH WA IQAMATIS-SUNNAH (JIBWIS) Zamfara State expresses deep sorrow and condemns the brutal murder of its esteemed Chairman of the JIBWIS Ulama Council, Gusau Local Government, Sheikh Abubakar Hassan Mada.
Alh. Aliyu Na-Allah Zurmi Chairman, JIBWIS, Zamfara State made the assertion in a statement Friday.
The incident occurred in Mada town, Gusau Local Government Area, on Tuesday, 5th March 2024, at around 4 pm.
“The leadership of JIBWIS, including Chairman Alhaji Aliyu Na-Allah Zurmi, joined other mourners to attend the funeral prayer led by Sheikh Abdullahi Salisu Aleru.
Despite the grief, JIBWIS urges its members to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing a commitment to legal actions to expose and prosecute the assailants.”
“Eyewitnesses in Mada town identified some members of Zamfara State’s Community Protection Guards (CPG) as the culprits, contradicting the official statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris Bala”. He stated.
According to him, JIBWIS confirms the statement made by the CPG Commander, Col Yandoto (rtd), acknowledging the involvement of his men in the tragic incident.
We called on Zamfara governor’s spokes person, Sulaiman Idris Bala to withdraw his statement defending the culprits.
Zurmi cautioned against encroaching on the responsibilities of trained professionals.
“As an Islamic organization, we remind the spokesperson to fear Allah and speak the truth, as he will be held accountable in the hereafter”. He added
He further pointed out that the leadership of the JIBWIS while condemning the statement urged the said spokesperson to stop encroaching into other peoples duty and be wary of delicate issues of this nature.
JIBWIS emphasizes its commitment to ensuring justice is served and therefore appeals to the public not to resort to vigilantism. We extend heartfelt condolences to the family of Sheikh Abubakar Hassan Mada, praying for his soul’s eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
