The Northern Elders Forum, a socio-cultural group has lauded the ongoing efforts by the Senator representing Kaduna central in the Senate, Senator Lawal Usman Adamu (Mr La) in order to restore security and political unity in Kaduna state.
The Elders Forum has commended the efforts of Senator Lawal Adamu of parleyed with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to seek his presidential intervention toward fight against insecurity and banditry challenges that have bedeviled some parts of the North, in particular his main constituency, Kaduna central where many innocent children and people were kidnapped by the suspected bandits in Kuriga and Kajuru respectively.
In a statement signed and made available to Hotpen by the N’west Coordinator, Dr Usman Sani, said the Forum described the recent two-hours meeting with President Tinubu by the Senator Lawal Usman Adamu in the Presidential Villa, Abuja as a fruitful and great sacrifice for the people of Kaduna and N’west despite their political differences.
The group while appreciating his fatherly concern, urged President Tinubu to urgently extend the frontiers of cooperation with other stakeholders in a join collaboration toward achieving greater goals in the fight against banditry and criminal elements who have surrounded innocent Nigerians, especially in the North western part of the country.
The meeting between Mr President and Senator Lawal Usman Adamu to discuss and find a permanent solutions against rampant kidnapping, attacks and other insecurity challenges in Kaduna and the north are one of the best efforts so far done by any politicians in the region; such singular efforts is highly commendable, supportive and wise to save many lives and properties of our people against bandits” Said Dr Usman.
The group advised military to use proactive measures both kinetic & non-kinetic in order to bring down the continue challenges of insecurity affecting our people.
“President TINUBU should not relent in his efforts for the fight against insecurity and attending all other important security matters with opposition groups so as to achieved a greater goal of eradicating bandits activities in Kaduna, North and the nation.” said group.
The Forum advised Nigerians to support the Federal government efforts through prayers and cooperation and stop playing politics with issue of insecurity.
