The North East Development Comission (NEDC) has distributed food items to journalists, Traditional rulers, indigent peope and others to cushion the effect of economic hardship.
Speaking to our correspondent during the distribution, Malam Aliyu Rabiu of the corporate service depertment NEDC Gombe state office said the items distributed includes Rice, Sugar and Pasta.
He said those who benefited from the gesture include all the Traditional rulers in the state, Federal and state legislatures and some Security Agencies in the state.
Hotpen recalls that two weeks ago Alhaji Mohammed Alkali Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer NEDC announced the donation of food items to households in the North East region to ameliorate the economic hardship of the people.
The MD said the items to be distributed include 300,000 bags of rice, 200,000 cartons of Spaggetti and Macaroni, 100,000 bags of sugar and clothing materials among other things.
According to him, the comission will continue to provide relief item to the indigent people in the region.
