The Chairman Nigerian Northern Senators Forum and Senator representing katsina central, Senator Abdul’aziz Musa Yaradua has procured foodstuffs to various vulnerable households in Katsina state.
The lawmaker assured people in the state especially areas affected by banditry that, the issue of banditry and kidnapping will soon be a matter of history.
Senator Yar’adua gave the assurance in Dutsinma local government area of katsina State shortly after flagging off the distribution of Ramadan packages to poor and vulnerable households across the eleven wards of Dutsinma local government area on Monday.
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dikko Umar Radda and other governors in the north west have strategize more effort to mitigate the activities of terrorists bandits and other criminals in the zone for peace to thrive.
Senator Yar’adua also commended the efforts of federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving directives to the security chiefs to mobilized additional security personnel and war fighting equipments to Katsina and Zamfara States, stressing that which the measures have now yielding a positive result.
He called on the people to intensify prayers to seek divine intervention during the holy month of Ramadan for the government to overcome the security challenges facing the state and the country in general.
According to him, government is determined to address the challenges to restore peace and stability across the troubled parts of katsina state, north-west and Nigeria in general.
Senator Yar’adua who visited the troubled Local Governments and some communities ransacked by bandits sympathized with them and condoled with the families of those that lost their loved ones and assured them that governments at all levels would do everything possible to address the challenges.
Yar’adua who launch the distribution of food items provided for poor and vulnerable households to ease their fasting and reduce the hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, used the opportunity to call on the people to pray during the Ramadan for God intervention over the security challenges.
He described the gesture as an act of charity in keeping with the faith to support the needy and poor during the holy month of Ramadan, without political differences, adding that there are many factors that are responsible for the hardship which to include removal of fuel subsidy and banditry that did not allow farmers to access their lands to produce food.
