On Monday, Nguru Local Education Authority flagged off the 2024-2025 education enrolment drive campaign in Hausari Community of Nguru Town of Yobe State.
The annual event was sponsored by the Yobe state Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
The Occasion witnessed mass turnout by the critical stakeholders comprises the NUT, SBMC, PTA among others.
Speaking at the occasion, the Education Secretary, Nguru Local Education Authority, Alhaji Hamisu Ado calls on parent and guardians to see to the enrollment of their wards especially that do not attend both formal and non formal schools.
Adding, the Yobe State Government is doing all it could to improved the Teaching and Learning Environment at both Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels
Ado said, the occasion was conducted last year in Ajiyari Community of Nguru Local Government but this year’s campaign was planned to take placed at the heart of Hausari Community.
The next year’s campaign God willing is going to be observed in another community as dictated by the tradition.
He added that Education is one of the fundamental human right recognized globally.
Hamisu said, “I enjoined all and sundry to allow their children to be enrolled in to our primary schools and other basic education” he said.
He urged parent and guardians to support all government policies geared towards eradicating poverty through the provision of providing sound and quality education at all levels.
On his remarks, representative from UNICEF, Mallam Garba Umar said Education is a business of all, therefore all hands must be on deck to promoting Education irrespective of tribe, religion and ethics affiliation.
He said, we thanked Yobe state government for what it has been doing all this while.
