Bandits in their hundreds riding motorcycles stormed Maidabino town in Danmusa local government area of Katsina state killing no fewer than nine people and kidnapped 50, burnt shops, vehicles and houses.
Reports from Danmusa says Hundreds of bandits carrying sophisticated weapons have ransacked Maidabino residents in Danmusa local government of Katsina state killing innocent people while about fifty persons mostly women and children were reportedly kidnapped.
It was further indicates that the bandits spent over four hours since from seven o’clock on Friday evening. A resident of Maidabino told our correspondent said the bandits while perpetuating their heinous crime also burnt fifteen shops, ten vehicles, as well as several houses belonging to the affected community.
Before the incident business men from Maidabino who boarded about fifteen commercial vehicles were disallowed reaching their homes since Friday after attending Yantumaki weekly market before later escorted by a high powered security personnel.
However following the unfortunate and memorable incident, Katsina state member house of assembly representing Danmusa local government, Hon. Aminu Garba sympathized with the people of Maidabino town over the incident and prayed for repose of the departed victims of the attacked including those injured.
He disclosed that already the record of casualty is now being assess for possible assistance from the state government led Mal. Umar Dikko Radda.
Hotpen reports that, the incident occurred ahead of a proper North West Governors forum on security with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scheduled to declared the security summit open in Katsina tomorrow (Monday 24-25 June, 2024).
