Some Yobe residents expressed happiness and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for construction of access roads across various parts of the state.
The residents made the comments in separate interviews during an inspection tour organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe Council.
Malam Kadu Kafayo, a resident of Tagali, Bade local Government Areas said the 10km Chumbusko – Tagali road had made life easier for them.
“Before the provision of the road, we find it difficult to transport our farm produce to various markets within and outside the state, we are now happy to be connected to the other part of the state,” he said.
Malam Sama’ila Tagali, a motorist also commended the governor and appealed for storage facilities for preservation and storage of their produce.
Alhaji Muhammadu Chukuriwa, the Village Head of Chukuriwa also commended Gov Buni for 16.5km Dawasa, Chukuriwa, Kukuri art road.
He said the road has linked several villages along the route with the major town of Potiskum, commended the governor and the Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Umar Wakil Duddaye for the construction of Jumaat Mosque in Chukuriwa.
In Fika, the Vice Chairman of the local government said, this is one of the projects being jubilated by entire citizens of this locality.
He added that the project had linked about five wards and three local government areas of Fika, Gujba and Gulani respectively.
In his remarks, the NUJ Chairman, Rajab Muhammed Ismail expressed appreciation of the projects and commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his outstanding performance.
He called on the other governors to emulate the governor Buni for overall development of their respected states.
