The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, attended a valedictory session at the Supreme Court in Abuja, in honour of the retiring Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Yahaya, who served as the Special Guest of Honour, was accompanied by the Governors of Ogun and Plateau States.
In his goodwill message, the NSGF Chairman lauded Justice Ariwoola for his significant contributions to the judiciary and the nation, emphasising his unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law.
He highlighted that the outgoing CJN’s tenure was characterised by landmark judgments that reinforced Nigeria’s democratic process and judicial independence, leaving a legacy that will inspire future generations of legal professionals.
The valedictory session was attended by government officials, legal experts, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries from across the nation, all catheter to celebrate the distinguished career of Justice Ariwoola, who served the Nigerian judiciary with exceptional dedication.
