The Nasarawa State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Francis Orogu has said all is set by the state chapter of the party to conduct first ever credible, fair and transparent congress coming up September- October 2024.
The Chairman whose second term is about to expire buttressed that history will be made by the PDP to ensure hitch free congress at ward, Local Government and State levels.
In an exclusive interview with newsmen shortly after a critical stakeholders meeting held at the State party Secretariat, he insisted that the right thing will be done to ensure peaceful and transparent process during and after the congress.
“What Nasarawa PDP is after is how to conduct congress without issues, I mean congress free of unnecessary hitches, only this will give the party the leeway to subsequent elections especially the Local Government election, In essence what we want is that we want to uphold the guidelines of the congress.
“Our party has come of age and what we are expecting is a winning team to take over the political landscape of Nasarawa State, some issues we took notice of is the need for consensus which is prominent for the party”.
Recalling back memory lane in the last congress, 132 contestants contested in the exercise, no single complain or petition either court case like it was in other political parties in the state.
The PDP Chairman called on all contestants and member delegates, in-coming and outgoing officials to remain calm.
