In continuation of the ongoing demolition of illegal structures within Kano metropolitan, the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has in the early hours of Wednesday led the demolition of symbolic Kano Government House Roundabout.
An eye witness told out reporter that Governor Abba Kabir stepped out from his official residence to personally supervise the demolition of the roundabout, which is just close to the entrance of the Government House, amidst heavy security.
The demolition, which took less than three hours was cheered by party supporters, a few government officials present.
It was reported that, the governor had in the early hours of Sunday, demolished shops built by the fence of Sani Abacha Stadium at Kofar Mata, GSS Kofar Nasarawa facing IBB road and buildings by GGSS Dukawuya, Goron Dutse.
Hotpen reports that, Abba Kabir Yusuf had during his campaign reiterated his commitment to restoring the glory of the state by reclaiming all encroached public land that was used to erect illegal structures particularly those erected in schools, mosques, playgrounds, graveyards, markets, and hospitals as, according to him, doing away with such structures would ensure strict adherence to the urban planning, beautification and safety of the people.
