The dearth of portable drinking water bedeviling Gwari community of Dutse local government in Jigawa state come to an end as Governor Umar Namadi has commissioned the N100 million water project in Gwari village.
Speaking at the commissioning of the project, Governor Namadi said, provision of accessible and clean drinking water to the teeming populace in the state is part of his 12 point agenda, added that his government is ready to collaborate with any partner to commit all the necessary resources to achieving the desire goals.
According to Governor Namadi:- “In pursuence of our water supply goals today we also commissioned a water project to end the decades of water scarcity in Gwari village of Dutse local government.
“The excitement and happiness we have seen in the faces of over 4,000 inhabitants of Gwari community during the commissioning of the water supply project has shown that we are on track.
“We promised to end the water scarcity in Gwari village and today we have fulfilled the promise, by constructing solar powered motorized borehole with water pipeline reticulation of over two kilometers across the community”.
The Governor however commissioned the newly rehabilitated offices of Water Board, Small Town Water Supply Board, Urban and Rural Water Supply Board of the state and distributed 36 motorcycle to strengthens monitoring water pipeline across the state.
He further warned civil servant in the state against lexity or absentisim on duty as his government is committed to provide enabling working environment to them for effective public service delivery. “We will maintained timely payment of workers entitlement and welfare, while the ethics of rewards and punishment will be uphold.” the Governor declared
Speaking in Gwari village, the Emir of Dutse His Highness Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sanusi commended Jigawa state government for coming to the aid of the community from decades of water scarcity.
“It is on record, this is the first and major water facility ever constructed for Gwari community, I am happy to see my people now have source of clean water and it will help in eradicating many water bound disease from the community ” The monarch stated.
Hotpen reports that, the people of Gwari in Dutse local government area of Jigawa state were saved from the water scarcity after a media report on the dearth water bedevilled the community for decades.
