Kano State Government has reiterated its continued support to the Zonal Command of the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons In its efforts to prohibit traffic in Persons, and other crimes under the jurisdiction of the agency.
In a statement from Press Secretary, Cabinet Office, Uba Abdullahi, a copy made available to Hotpen in Kano, said Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje made this known while receiving the Zonal Commander of the agency Mr. Desmond Garba who paid him a visit to further strategize ways of discharging their duties.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the Government would partner with the agency towards ensuring that the human trafficking is totally a history.
The statement also stressed that the Government had came up with series of policies and programs aimed at making life better for the people of the state especially the free and compulsory primary and secondary education in among the school aged children in the state which he said had gone along way in boasting children enrollment in the schools as well as the integration of western systems of education in Islamiyya schools among others.
Governor assured the zonal commander that the state government would look into the issues of the problems presented to the government by the agency especially vehicle’s, advocacy among others.
In his speech the Zonal Commander, Mr Desmond Garba said the visitation was aimed at cementing the already existed cordial working relations between the agency and the state government and as well to explore more ways of collaboration for objective accomplishments.
Mr Desmond thanks the State Governor for his visionary leadership style and assured him of the agency cooperation at all the times.
