The Tijjaniyya Islamic group have holds international an Annual Maulud of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and a special prayer for restoration of peaceful coexistence in Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
According to our reporter people from all walks of life gathered at the August 27 Stadium, Damaturu the state capital to witness the ceremony.
The prayers were presided by Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi where he described the Maulud celebration as an honour to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and urged the Muslim faithful to always behave decently, help the needy and adhere to the teachings of Islam.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi used the forum to commend Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for the love to the Almajiri’s especially at a time when other states were driving the Almajiri’s out of their States. “Let’s pray for Governor Mai Mala Buni, may Allah bless him and his people, may God improve peace in Yobe, Northeast and Nigeria at large”.
He recited verses of the Holy Quran to seek God’s intervention and blessings to the Country and its citizens. “In my prayers also I seek God’s intervention against all criminalities such as kidnapping, abduction, banditry, slaughtering of innocent people, burning of commuters among other unwanted acts”.
The ceremony was also attended by prominent Islamic scholars such as Sheikh Sheriff Mu’azu bin Sheikh Tijjani, Sheikh Mahi Cisse, Sheikh Sheriff Ibrahim Saleh Al-Hussaini, Sheikh Sheriff Ibrahim Khuna, Sheikh Naziru, Malam Abdullahi Nasarawa among others.
Governor Mai Mala Buni was represented by his Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Chief Executives of Boards and extra ministerial departments, traditional leaders, security chiefs among others too numerous to mention.
The Governor began to address with a prayer where he also recited a verse from the holy Quran. He said that prayers is paramount to the improvement of peace in Yobe and Nigeria at large.
His words:-“We thanked the Tijjaniyya Islamic stakeholders for finding Yobe worthy to be the place for the 2021 international Maulud celebration. I want to commend you for remaining peaceful and supportive all along, we are grateful for that.”
