Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has attributed running a transparent government, entrenching due process and inclusiveness to why the state keep attracting funding from the World Bank and the Federal Government. He said the funds are being channeled to carrying out meaningful development projects in the state.
In a press released by Yusuf Ali the SSA Digital and Strategic Communications to Governor Buni, said that, the Governor announced on Thursday at the signing of the 2023 Finance and Appropriation Bills into law, at the Government House, Damaturu stressed that, his administration was going to channel all public funds into projects that has direct bearing to the lives of the people
He expressed satisfaction that, Yobe State was lucky to received funding from both the World Bank and Federal Government, following which, more and more projects are to be executed by his administration in the new year.
Governor Buni said his administration would continue to run an open government by promoting transparency and accountability in governance to have value for money on all expenditures.
“We are a state with low revenue and in dire need of infrastructure and services, we have to use our resources judiciously and transparently to achieve our set targets to improve the lives of our people” Buni emphasized.
The governor commended the civil servants who believe and share the vision and mission of his administration.
“I want to specially appreciate our civil servants who are the implementors of government policies and programmes and for being on the same page with the government to achieve the great feat”.
Governor Buni expressed optimism that, the State will continue to maintain her position on the table of transparency and accountability in the country.
