The Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has signed into law bills establishing Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Service and Yobe Healthcare and Health-Related Facilities Inspection and Monitoring Agency in the state.
In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs made available to our correspondent in Damaturu the state capital, said that, the two laws are aimed at boosting healthcare delivery in matters relating to domestic and road traffic accidents and monitoring healthcare facilities to provide the best standard practice.
According to him the emergency Medical Ambulance Service law provides an opportunity for first aid treatment to victims from the scene of accidents before reaching medical facilities.
He said that, the Health Facility Inspection and Monitoring Agency empowers health authorities in the state to inspect and monitor services provided by all medical facilities in the state to eliminate substandard services and cut corners in medical services accordingly.
According to him the two laws will also ensure that healthcare delivery is not compromised at any level in the state at large.
