The newly elected president of the Nigeria wheat association Alhaji Musa Shehu Sheka has described the involvement of government and stakeholders in wheat farming as a way forward to the development of wheat production in the country.
Musa Shehu Sheka disclosed this while addressing Newsmen on his office shortly after assuming office as the new president of the wheat farmers association of Nigeria
” We are appealing to the government to always intervein in the programs of wheat farmers, what is currently taking place in Ukraine and Russia should serve as an example, that we can produce enough wheat which will feed our self.”
He said as a newly elected president he will work assiduously in ensuring adequate development of wheat farmers across the federation.
The President maintained that the Association is not only for the notherners rather is for all Nigerian, hence he will ensure that members from the 36 States we’re being carried along.
The New President of the Association added that his stewardship will work tirelessly in addressing the challenge of inadequate farming inputs, training and retraining of wheat farmers among others.
He appealing the support of wheat farmers from states of the federation, geared towards achieving the set objectives.
