The National Harmonize Traders Union, has accused the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Governor Godwin Emifeale for his deliberate moves to strangled Nigeria Economy and plunged Millions of Nigerians into abject Poverty.
The Union President, Dr Bature AbdulAziz, said in Kano that the actions of the CBN Governor rather shows as if he is doing a fifth columnist jobs, by refusing to listen to several clarion calls on extension of the old notes circulation deadline.
The President of the Traders said, today is not a story that many Nigerians are in a dare needs with millions of them in fear of the uncertainties with the new Naira Notes deadline.
He worried that the CBN Governor Godwin Emifeale, knowing fully that the Naira redesign policy needs ample times and enlightenment, but he half-hazadely went ahead and started it when most citizens don’t even have banks accounts.
“In the over two millions population the Nation has only less than two millions Nigerians are well to do and they have access to banks while eighty percent are the poor ones, and they are the one suffering from this policy”.
“How can Emifeale refused to listen to everybody including National Assembly members, Traditional and Religious Leaders, who is he serving, did he think that without the mandate of the People that brought the Government to power would he be CBN Governor”. He cautioned.
Bature AbdulAziz, further asked did the CBN Governor took into cognizant the rural dwellers and so many other persons, he must listen to the calls for extension, because there is no any reason for him not to?.
