No fewer than nine prominent female groups of the main opposition PDP in Zamfara declared their support to the ruling APC and Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle’s leadership style of inclusiveness.
The state publicity secretary of the APC Yusuf Idris in a statement said, the women groups who thronged the Government House in their large number of followership also blocked the entrance to the facility in order to ram in their mission.
Group leaders who took turn to state the reason for their decision cited high handedness, indecision and lack of focus as characterizing their former political home.
They lamented the long time it took them to join the winning team which they remarked has been conducting its affairs with maturity, respect to the rule of law and respect to humanity.
While appreciating how the APC has always ensured discipline at all times and levels, the new entrants said disappointingly, the PDP is fond of causing crisis within and outside the party, noting that a party that wants to lead people should not be seen to be causing or having inherent crisis.
The leaders unanimously vowed to work assiduously in mobilizing more support for the APC assuring that the only thing remaining on the APC win is the election.
Welcoming the new decampees, Chairman of the Decampees Reception Committee, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura said the APC has always maintained open arms to all entrants explaining that such is the essence of politics.
He assured them that they will receive equal treatment with all members of the party at all times.
Also in his remarks, the Secretary of the reception committee, Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Shinkafi commended the vision of the women groups in adding to the number of the party.
He informed them that the Matawalle-led administration has more plans that will positively engage women and youths in the state in the next administration and that nobody will be left behind when the dividends of democracy goes round.
The nine women groups that made the latest movement from the PDP to the APC include Dauda Lawal Dare Women Support Groups under the leadership of Malama Aisha Aliyu, PDP Women Awareness Forum under the leadership of Hajiya Jamila Isah, PDP Bamuci Bamufita under the leadership of Hajiya Rukkaya Abdullahi, Kungiyar Mata Kaifi Daya Rijiyar Gabas under the leadership of Malama Hafsat Shehu and Kungiyar Baiwa Sai Allah Tashar Rawayya in support Gamjin Gusau under the leadership of Malama Amina Ibrahim.

Our Correspondent reports that the event was witnessed by the Secretary General of Gubernatorial Campaign Council Prof Abdullahi Muhammad Shinkafi, APC Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Honourable Ibrahim Maaji, Special Adviser to the governor on political matters, State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Waziri Maru, Chair lady APC Women Elders Hajiya Ai Maradun, Hajiya Saude Hashimu and Hajiya Maryam Muhammad Na’inna among others.
