Hon. Musa Muhammad Fagen Gawo, member Representing Babura/Garki federal constituency, and the Special Adviser, Bala Sule Kila have resigned their membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the opposition PDP in JIgawa State.
The serving member house of representative, who is also a son of close associate of Governor Badaru, Late Adamu Muhammad Fagen Gawo joined PDP at the residence of PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido on Tuesday night.
Hotpen reports that, Late Adamu Muhammad Fagen Gawo died while serving as Member house of representatives Babura/Garki federal constituency, shortly after his death Governor imposed the candidature of his biological son, Adamu Muhammad Fagen Gawo where he emerged victorious during the by-election.
Apparently dissatisfied with Hon. Gawo’s performances at the green chamber, Governor Badaru replaced him with one of his loyalists, Hon. Aminu Kanta (AK) during the party primary elections conducted last year.
However, the action of Governor Badaru did not go down well as such, the son of Badaru’s loyalists and serving member house of representatives, Hon. Musa Adamu Fagen Gawo dumped the party for PDP to support the candidature of the gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido.
It was also learnt that, the decamped federal law maker is a close friend to Mustapha Sule Lamido, he was quoted as saying he was pressurized to joined PDP considering his relationship with the former governor’s son.
However in his resignation letter addressed to his Kore ward chairman, Hon. Adamu Fagen Gawo said his decision followed series of conflicts happening at all stages of the party (APC). “I write to notify, I resigned my membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from 21st of February 2023”.
Briefing newsmen shortly while recieving him by the PDP executives at the residence of the party’s (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Dutse, the state capital, Gawo said the decision followed a wider consultation with constituents on a plan to quit the ruling All Progressive Party APC and join the opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP.
“I am here because I want to help a friend, a schoolmate whom we attended the same university, I am here to help the party to win the 2023 elections”. He added.
The special adviser to the governor on Afforestation, Honorable Bala Sule Kila also joined the opposition PDP, a letter addressed to the governor of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar through the secretary to the state government informed his resignation of his appointment from the position of special adviser.
Hotpen gathered that, in less than 72hrs to the Presidential and National Assembly elections, the ruling APC continued to loses high profile politicians in the state to the opposition political party PDP.
