Over thirty support groups under the auspices of All Progressive Congress (APC) from North West have endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi as the speaker of the 10th National Assembly in the country.
Besides, the groups demand and appealed for zoning of Speakership position to the North Central in the interest of peace, justice and equaity in the Party.
The group’s made their positions during a press briefing with journalists lead by the National Coordinator of the Coalition of APC Northern Groups, Adamu M. Abdullahi in Kano State.
Adamu Abdullahi, noted that Nigeria today needed a team player like Adamu Gagdi elected House of representatives member to be the 10th Speaker of the House for continuity to build on the achievements of Femi Gbajabiamila, the outgoing speaker.
Acoording to the groups, Gagdi a member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam from Platuea state have the qualities and ability to cary all lawmakers along in spite of political devide. As well as his track records of robust debates, insightful and constructive arguments on the floor of the house.
Thus, alot of first-timers will be coming into the house, hence, a perfect team player and exprienced leader would therefore be needed as the speaker to ensure stability and good leadership.
The statement further added that, Adamu Gagdi will be perfect fit as the country’s next speaker because of his long legislative experienced.
“We’ve studied the lawmaker closely by monitoring his progression and development in the house for more than a decade”,.
“Gagdi has proven himself as a leader and a legislator par excellent, and of great repute and stature, going by the numerious and poeple oriented bills he has single- handedly sponsored and pushed forward in the house”.
The group further describe him as not only a core party player loyalists but competent, tested representative of proven intergrity, honesty and as well.
The secretary of the movement Malam Usman Kobi said the joint the struggle for Gagdi’s consideration to youth in provision of 3000 jobs opportunity to the youth in his constituency. This achieved by his vast knowledge in lagislative affairs and leadership.
