A proposed consolidated budget of sixty five billion Naira has been approved by the Bauchi State Legislative Council for the twenty Local Governments of the State.
This was contained in the report of the House Joint Committee on Appropriation and Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs during a plenary session of the Assembly.
Abdukadir Umar Dewu who is chairman of the Committee said in his presentation that the proposed budget is billed to address crucial areas of need affecting rural areas of the State.
Speaker of the State Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman expressed satisfaction with the performance of members for taking quick actions to facilitate effective service delivery.
At the Executive level, Bauchi State Government distributed brand new official vehicles to Chairmen of the twenty Local Government Caretaker Committees of the State.
Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammed pointed out that the vehicles were meant to ease transportation needs of the Chairmen as they undertake their official responsibilities in the rural areas.
The Governor who was represented at the official presentation of the vehicles by the SSG, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, noted with appreciation, hard work of the Chairmen and reassured them of his support to further boost their performances.
The Commissioner For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdurrazak Nuhu Zaki urged the Chairmen to use the vehicles in effectively discharging their official functions.
ALGON Chairman Umar Hassan, in a vote of thanks promised that they will further consolidate the successes of the Bala Abdukadir Muhammed Administration to take Bauchi State to greater heights.
