The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, Kauran Bauchi, has strategized the palliative sharing method. The State Commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Haj Yakubu Wanka, revealed this to the general public.
The Commissioner further said that a high-powered committee chaired by the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, has proposed a sum of eight hundred million naira for leave grants for civil servants in the state.
She further disclosed that another sum of eight hundred million naira has been earmarked for pensioners by the state and local government pension boards, which have received five hundred million and three hundred million naira, respectively, as their respective gratuities.
Additional buses will be dispatched across the Bauchi metropolitan area to ease students’ transportation challenges faced by the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
The sum of three hundred and twenty million naira has been allocated for social and vulnerable groups as well as people living with disabilities.
One thousand health workers and volunteers in the state have been allocated a sum of sixty million naira.
The funds will be distributed as unconditional cash transfers to mitigate the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
The Hon. Commissioner finally stated that Governor Bala has directed the distribution committee, which is under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, to ensure equitability and avoid any differences.
