Group of concerned citizens in Zamfara state have on Thursday conducted spiritual prayers for the return of peaceful coexistence in the state.
The group headed by Prof. Nasiru Anka on Thursday described the lingering insecurity as a result of the banditry as worrisome which needs total submission to Almighty Allah for sustainable peace in the state.
Prof. Anka stated that similar prayers will soon be conducted across 14 local government areas in the state by the group.
“We decided to organize such prayer session in Gusau considering the insecurity as a result of the activities of terrorists bandits in the state and similar prayers will be hold across 14 local government areas that we have in the state for peace to thrive”. Prof. Anka stated
He enjoined religious leaders in the state to continue praying for relative peace to be returned.
He also called on federal government to as a matter of urgency deploy more security personnel to the state in order to fight against banditry.
“The call became necessary considering the fact that Zamfara state have been seriously faced by bandits attacks on innocent civilians for over a decade”. He said.
