Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) says her organisation has played a pivotal role in the digitalisation of the nation and improving its revenue profile.
Everton-Idehen who was on tour of Gombe regional office to create awareness on the organization’s activities, stated this in Gombe on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the activities of NIGCOMSAT.
She also said the satellite operator attracts foreign direct investments into Nigeria and 19 per cent of the country’s revenue comes from the communications sector.
The MD said as part of its mandate NIGCOMSAT aim to promote the growth of the broadcasting industry to generate maximum revenue and provide Nigerians access to digital communications.
“Technology is the engine of every economy, and NIGCOMSAT is now well-equipped to provide the nation with quality internet services that will encourage innovation and other advancements in the technology industry.
“We are counting on the media, industry players and schools to explore partnership opportunities with NIGCOMSAT as it is crucial for facilitating technological access and fostering sustainable economic growth at all levels of the country”, she said.
