As a result of the sustains efforts and collaborative relationship between the Nguru Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) and United Nation Children Fund (UNICEF), the Borno D field Office Team has paid a one day working visit to the Nguru LGEA.
The visit was aimed at moving the Education level of the Nguru LGEA to a different pinnacle.
The Team was lead By Dr, Yusuf Isma’il , Eduication Specialist, accompanied, by Mallam Mustapha Shehu, Education Officer, Mallam Garba Muhammad Umar, UNICEF facilitator and Engr Aminu Hamza they were received by the Ag. Education Secretary Mallam Hamisu Ado Nguru.
Welcoming the August visitors at his office, the Ag. Education Secretary appreciated the cordial relationship enjoyed by both toward refiling the learning poverty gaps which exist among the teaming school pupils in the General Area.
Stressing that, the interventions put in place by the UNICEF through certain Programs like the Teaching At The Right Level ( TaRL) e.t.c introduced and sponsored by the UNICEF has positively
improves the Learning Outcomes of school children urging the UNICEF team to sustain the momentum.
Shortly, after taking them round the public schools in the Area where the August Visitors saw for themselves how the program impacted positively on the literary as well as the numeracy level of the school pupils – the team leader urged the Education Secretary not to relent on the gain so far made, the team leader also advised the Ag. Education Secretary to maintain the feat.
Thereafter, the Ag. Education Secretary leads the UNICEF team to the office of the Nguru Local Government Care Taker Committee Chairman, Alh. Madu Kachalla where the both parties share
intelligence on how best can complement one another; come together and move the Education level of the entire locality to another peak.
Consequently, the Ag. Education Secretary put a request to the Care Taker Committee Chairman, asking that, “as a matter of urgency the local Government should re-deploy all its employees that poses teaching qualification to the LGEA in order to reimpose teaching and Learning in the general area.
On his part, Alh. Madu Kachalla promised to fulfill the request made by the Nguru Local Government Education Secretary, there and then the UNICEF also promised shoulder a refresher training for those with the teaching qualification before going back to the class room where they are
expected to contribute their quarter.
