Civil Society Group, Progressive Youth For Anti-Stolen Vote on Thursday called on Nigerians to support the Judiciary in fighting stolen votes by crooked politicians.
The Chairman of the Association, Comrade Muhammad Muhammad Dawakin Kudu who spoke in Kano over current effort to rubbish the judiciary explained that Nigerians shouldn’t forget the act was a clear violation of the electoral process.
Muhammad Dawakin Kudu said “it is very pertinent to note that failure to abide by the rules has a negetive impact to national development and it also kills the nations democracy, hence all hands should be put on deck to achieve the set objectives.”
He explained that “members of the press may we recall in Kano that the tribunal deducted the uncertified 165,663 votes without stamp, signed and date from Yusuf Abba Kabir and describe it invalid and unlawful votes considering the manual of INEC elections which stated clear that : a valid Vote must to be stamped,signed and dated by polling Clack. For this purpose Abba reduced to 853,939 which were over 30,000 votes less than the 890,705 votes polles by Nasir Yusuf Gawuna”
He noted that “consequently, the court declared the APC candidate winner of the Kano Governoship election and orders INEC to withdrawn Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Certificate of return and Issue it to Gawuna”
Comrade Muhammad noted that on this basis the Association is calling on the law makers at the national level to ensure that the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria is strictly adhered to aimed at sustaining the development of the Nations democracy.
He added that the organization is drawing the attention of progressive teaming youth to support judiciary and security agencies in all ways of fighting bad attitude that may destroy National development and democracy.
