The Zamfara State Media Corporation will sponsor the training of 100 state working journalists at TV College Jos and FRCN Kaduna Training College.
Managing Director of Zamfara State Media Corporation, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Gusau (Bunun Jangebe) stated this while receiving Staff and Students of Mass Communication Department of Zamfara State College of Arts and Science (ZACAS) Gusau who paid him congratulatory visit over his appointment.
Alhaji Bello Gusau described Mass Communication as an academic field of study which deals with information dissemination.
The Bunun Jangebe further explained that, considering it significance; the Corporation decided to train one hundred state working journalists with a view to boosting their zeal in Journalism profession.
He said they would be trained on different courses of the profession such as News Writing and Reporting, Presentations, Production, Advertisement as well as ethics of the profession which is part of the present administration’s Rescue Mission on broadcasting activities in the state.
The Managing Director therefore called on the students to redouble their efforts in searching for knowledge on Journalism Profession through listening to Radio, reading newspapers and attending important public gatherings.
Bello Abdullahi also used the medium and commended the college management and students for their solidarity over his recent appointment as the pioneer Managing Director Zamfara Media Corporation and assured them that, the existing relationship between the college and State Media Corporation would be maintained.
In his remarks, Acting Managing Director Zamfara Radio and Television Service Gusau Malam Ma’azu Muhammad Bela said the visit demonstrated good working relationship and understanding between the Managing Director of Zamfara Media Corporation Malam Bello Abdullahi and that of ZACAS Gusau.
Ma’azu Bela then advised Mass Communication students in the college to engage themselves in reading newspapers, constant monitoring of other Radio and Television stations as well as other activities involved in the Broadcast Industry which according to him are the right ways to become a good future journalist.
In a contribution, a journalist in the state and former Press Secretary to the Former Zamfara Governor Comrade Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji advised them to remain loyal to their lecturers and concentrate fully on their studies for better future.
Jamilu Birnin Magaji also used the visit and commended the Managing Director Zamfara Media Corporation Alhaji Bello Abdullahi for his determination in training one hundred state working journalists during his leadership.
Earlier in his address, Head of Mass Communication Department of the institution, Malam Tukur Muhammad Janyau who was represented by the Departmental Coordinator Malam Suleman Umar Dansadau said they were at MD’s Office to register their solidarity and congratulate him over his appointment.
