The Zamfara state has paid the sum of N613 million to 414 state retired civil servants their gratuity.
This was made known by the chairman of the verification and authentication also the permanent secretary of the state ministry of finance Muhammad Kabiru Abubakar in an interview with newsmen in his office.
According to him, his committee received over 4000 data of the beneficiaries.
He further hinted that the committee was charged to verify those who retired from 2015 to date for them to benefit from their gratuity.
He pledged to do justice in the discharge of the assignment given to his committee by ensuring that all the genuine retired civil servants have been paid their gratuity.
“We are working round the clock to complete the state government efforts in ensuring every genuine retired civil servants get their gratuity”. He said.
According to him, the exercise will look at those on Retirement gratuity, contract gratuity and death gratuity.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to make use of their payment appropriately for the betterment of them and their family.
“We are enjoining the beneficiaries to make sure that the money paid to them have been utilize appropriately for their better living instead of making unnecessary expenditure considering the economic hardship in the country.” He said.
