The Head, of Corporate Communications, Jos Electricity Distribution Plc, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, has on Tuesday apologised to the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a misleading story authored by him about the company.
In the said publication, the image maker wrongly stated that Jos Electricity Distribution Plc has on the 27th of April, 2024 restored partial power supply to Gombe whereas it was the TCN who owns the 132KV lines that restored supply to the area.
Elijah also among other things stated incorrectly that only 5MW was allocated to Gombe whereas 19MW was allocated to the state.
He stated that the said publication, viewed as false and misleading, was not intended in that regard and not published to tarnish the good image of the TCN in any where nor mislead the public.
The rest of the apology reads as follows:
“The attention of the Head, of Corporate Communications, Jos Electricity Distribution Plc, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, has been drawn to the above-headlined story which has portrayed the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in negativity.
“The story in question does not have the approval of the Management of Jos Electricity Distribution Plc and therefore remains the opinion of the author.
“This story has cast some aspersions on the image and integrity of the TCN and is highly regretted”.
Given the above anomaly, Dr Elijah therefore apologised to the Management of TCN for the information which has been discovered to be misleading.
He, therefore urged members of the public to disregard the story in its entirety.
