As the 10 days notice given to all the appointed commissioners under NNPP led Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration expired, majority of the commissioners have lost hope as their performance is nothing to write home about.
It was gathered that, among the non- performing members of the state executive council some have started seeking for divine intervention, while others are thinking of leaving their seat amicably to avoid been sacked as stated by the state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Political pundits have observed the impact of few commissioners who have made tremendous stride in their areas of primary assignments in the last nine months of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s reign.
Hotpen reports that, those listed by political pundits among the performing commissioners include Haruna Umar Doguwa, Commissioner for Education; Abubakar Labaran Yusif, Health; Engr. Marwan Ahmad Works; Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata and Commissioner for Information Baba Halilu Dantiye.
It was gathered that, the Commissioners are presently grasping in fear of unknown over the impending cabinet reshuffle of the present administration of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf.
Hotpen recalled that, Governor Abba Yusuf had on 13th February, directed the office of the Secretary to the State government to issue an evaluation notice to all the 18 commissioners under his cabinet.
The assessment forms, according to statement by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sanusi Bature, were expected to be filled and submitted within ten days.
The purpose of the evaluation template, Sanusi stressed, was intended to retain performing Commissioners and subsequently relieve those who underperformed their entrusted duties.
According to Sanusi, the directive was based on policy of Gov. Yusuf’s administration made known at the swearing-in of the Commissioners to evaluate their performance after every six months to ensure quality service delivery.
Although, the office of the Governor, has remained silent 6 days after the expiration of the ultimatum, there are growing indication several commissioners are already nursing imminent eviction.
